Kashmir

This piece was interesting. I was looking through pictures and noticed that this one really stood out. I also happened to be listening to Kashmir by Led Zeppelin at the time, a classic. To me, the song is speaking about a journey, and I happened to have this picture with the long path. It isn't so much a literal journey, but just about taking a path to the unknown.

Schism

I've been listening to a lot of Tool lately. They are one of my favorite bands. I always get a really dark, mysterious feel from their music and I really wanted to do a project on one of their songs. This is what I came up with for Schism. I really like it.

Sunspots

This week, while trying to decide what to do for my project and listening to my iPod on shuffle, Nine Inch Nails came on, the song being Sunspots. I've always loved this song, and I've been thinking I wanted to do something like this for a while now, and this was the perfect fit. This wasn't exactly what I had in mind going into it but I'm pleased with the outcome. I actually did two versions I liked it so much. But here they are. I decided to go with the blue for the project, but I do like the original as well.

Another Portfolio Project

This week in my portfolio, I was listening to Jimi Hendrix and Little Wing came on, and I was inspired. This is what I came up with. It doesn't really relate to anything in the song, but it just kind of came to me in a rush.

Been A While...

I haven't really been doing too much that I wanted to put on here, but I'm starting to go in my own direction with my art. Here is the first project I've done and I think is now final for my portfolio I've begun working on. We're Going To Be Friends - White Stripes was my inspiration.

Web Button

Just a quick web button done in Photoshop. I like it. It was very easy.

Pop Surrealism

This is the other surrealism piece I did in May that I forgot to post. I didn't like it much. It became a bit rushed and I changed ideas last minute.

Traditional Surrealism

In Digital Design II this week, we took a look at the works of Salvador Dali and other artists that were part of the Surrealism movement. We had to create two pieces, one using aspects of traditional surrealism and one with pop surrealism aspects. This is what I came up with for my traditional one. The pop surrealism one should be finished by next Friday.

Super Me

In Digital Design II we were introduced to Adobe Premiere Pro. We were challenged with making an animation showing us doing a task that is humanly impossible. I used a simple blue screen video over a still frame background. I like how it turned out. It was much better but became corrupted, so I threw it all together to meet deadline, but I still think it turned out good in the end.

Britto Portrait

In Digital Design II we talked about the artist Roberto Britto and discussed his art style and looked at his pictures. His style is very unique. On our first project using Adobe Illustrator, we created a portrait inspired by Britto. I left my face the way it was because of the effect it gave.

My First Animation

This is my first post for a while. Recently in Digital Design II(I passed one already), we have been talking about animations. We made a few of them just to become familiar with how they work. Using a combination of QUIDAM 2 and Photoshop, we made a simple 3-D animation. It's nothing outstanding, but it's a step towards high quality complex animations. I would have liked to loop this a few times to show the action better.
