Movie Poster

Have you ever seen a moive poster and it just catches your eye? This is actually a big art form and is a very important selling point of the industry. If the poster doesn't look good, then why would you see the movie? Movie poster designers have basically one second to sell the movie to you, with no sound or movement. That was the basis of this assignment in Digital Design. We had to design a movie poster, entirely from scratch, with our own pictures. It could be a spinoff or a brand new movie. I really like the way mine turned out. Thanks to my step-dad for the great photograph, there really wasn't much I had to do to make it work. One student even thought it was real until I told him it wasn't.

Figure Drawing

Another class available here is figure drawing. Their motto is, "If you can draw the figure, you can draw anything!". Our Digital Design class was asked to make a new poster to advertise the class around school. The best poster is going to be printed and put up in the school. I know it isn't anything fancy, but it's all i could come up with.

Edit: This poster was picked and posted in the school.

Cyborg

In Digital Design class, we were talking about Sci-Fi movies and how movies use different programs like Photoshop on movie posters to make a person appear to be a cyborg, so we set off on making ourselves into cyborgs. Even though this isn't super detailed with blood and such, I think it looks kinda cool.

Note: I do not claim to own any rights to Microsoft or anything used in this picture. I got no money for this, and it was all used for educational purposes.

Hmm...

What's on your mind? That was the name of this assignment for my Digital Design class. We had to put images in the document and make them look like they are coming out of our heads. I liked this assignment because it was very creative, and everything was on us. We chose how we opened our head, what pictures to use, the background, and how to do it. The only problem I had was making the shadow on the guitar, I burned it a little bit. Mistakes aside, I think this is a big step from my parody sign, no?

Silhouettes

In my Digital Design class we had to cut out three pictures of ourselves and put them over a gradient and turn two of them into silhouettes. This assignment was slightly time consuming with the cutouts, but it was pretty cool. I enjoyed it and like the way it came out.

Bottlecap Jewelry

In class, we made a circular picture small enough to fit inside a bottlecap. We had a heart theme, so I did one about my girlfriend. It turned out pretty well. I turned mine into a magnet, but we could have made necklaces or anything really. This colud be a small business for somebody.

Famous for 15 Minutes

We did this assignment in my Digital Design 1 class last week based on the different color schemes. It was slightly based on the work of Andy Warhol. I really liked how this turned out. It wasn't hard or anything, but it looks cool.

Text portrait

This assignment was interesting. It was unique and I like how flexible it is. I might try to get better at this and make some really detailed pictures. It's not the best, but I still like it. It could be worse I guess. The hair I could have made look better but that was as good as I could make it.

My first attempt to photoshop

Besides messing around and getting familiar, this is my first real attempt at a parody sign.

Not bad for a first, eh?
